Badwell Ash Parish Council

The Parish Council has the intention of maintaining and improving the quality of the parish and of the lives of its residents.

Areas of interest include planning the development of the parish, crime prevention, lighting, litter, open spaces, playing fields, rights of way, roadside verges, seats, shelters and signs etc.

The Parish Council can make small grants on application, for which we have a published process - see our Governance page.

Planning Applications

The Parish Council reviews all planning applications affecting the parish. We then pass our opinions to Mid Suffolk District Council which they may take into account when they make the decision to permit, deny or permit with conditions.  Update 2025-01 we have formed a Planning Application Steering group who will now advise the Councillors on applications.

You can view current and past applications by searching the Mid Suffolk District Council's online planning page:

Accounts

Parish Council accounts are audited twice annually, once by a local auditor (internal audit) and then they are sent to an external auditor who is appointed by the Audit Commission. The results of these audits are posted on the village noticeboards and website later in the year.
