Community Volunteers Needed to Boost Emergency Preparedness

Badwell Ash and Long Thurlow are calling for residents to sign up as volunteers to help strengthen the villages' Community Contingency Plans against severe weather, emergencies, and unexpected challenges.
The Parish Council is working to build a more resilient and connected community, and is asking for local support to ensure everyone is prepared to help one another when the need arises.
Volunteers are needed for a range of tasks, and even a small commitment of time can make a significant difference. Ways you can help include:
  • Checking in on vulnerable neighbours.
  • Coordinating local resources.
  • Assisting with community communication.
  • Sharing specific skills, such as first aid, 4x4 driving capability, or radio and digital communications expertise.
Even if you can only spare an hour of your time, or simply want to be on a contact list to offer help, the Parish Council urges you to get in touch.
How to Volunteer
If you are interested in helping to make Badwell Ash and Long Thurlow better prepared, please email the Parish Clerk at badwellashpc@outlook.com to express your interest and learn more about the scheme.
